Saturday 26th November - Windsurf * River Orwell at Levington – sunny periods.

Foil – 18.70 knot max, 17.46 knot ave., 2.16 knot hour, 3.69 knot mile, 15.53 km., 14.72 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Thunderbird 6.5.

With next week getting colder with light winds I was keen to get out today to hopefully make the most of forecast southerly breeze building all day with the rain not arriving until dark. The wind was slow to build but at around 10.30 it started to rise tempting me to drive over to Levington to check things out. There was loads of water but the breeze was light and gusty so I set up my foil and put my wetsuit on hoping the wind would build. I then made a rocky error I rigged for the forecast wind rather than what I had so sadly my 6.5 was way to small apart from the odd gust :( I spent a couple of hours floundering about waiting for a gust and was actually amazed I broke 18 knot max with a 17 knot average, the highlight of the session was spotting a seal and the hot shower after!
